The article reports that due to the expansion of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) the accessibility for wheelchair users has increased at several beach facilities in U.S.. The beach accessibility consists of three components including an accessible surface to the beach, provision for beach wheelchairs, and ramping over barrier dunes. The accessible surface can be made by constructing a hard surface. For the travel path the part of the beach directly in contact with the surf can be used.
