ABSTRACT
The article discusses the report of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the foreign firms with commercial activity in the Iranian oil, gas or petrochemical sectors from 2005-2009. GAO identified 41 companies with commercial transactions in the gas, oil and petrochemical industries including Gazprom, Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. and Royal Dutch Shell PLC. The firms are involved in oil and gas exploration and production, expansion of refining capacity and natural gas development.
