Ä°bn Khaldun is known as the corner stone at Ä°slamic world from the perspective of historical understanding, philosophical ideas and the metodology of history. Besides, according to some aouthors, he is determined as the beforless and afterless at the field of history. And so, studies about Ibn Khaldun has shown his deepness and, on the other hand, it has been understood that discussions and studies about him would be kept. It is not easy to evaluate all perspectives of his historical ideas in the an article. So, in this article philosophy of history as the philosophy of the past has not been introduced. In this article his historical understanding, historical approach and contributions to the history have been evaluated. Hence, it has been tried to be determined, the ideas of Ibn Khaldun about the lies at the history and about how these lies could be explained.
