The article reports that Golder, Thoma, Cressey, Rauner, Inc. (GTCR), a Chicago, Illinois private equity firm, has acquired Protection One, a Kansas-based security company, for 328 million U.S. dollars at 15.5 U.S. dollars a share. The acquisition price represents 118% premium over Protection One's valuation. GTCR has previously invested in Cambridge Protection Industries and HSM Electronic Industries.
