ABSTRACT
The article discusses issues arising from carbon neutrality and carbon offsetting. The term carbon offset pertains to a measure in which greenhouse gases coming from some other part of the economy is compensated through different means such as planting trees to a quantity sufficient to compensate for the gases coming from airline travel. The validity of many carbon offsetting companies are questionable, according to Doctor Clive Spash. The implications of carbon offsetting for the grape and wine industry particularly in Australia are discussed.
