ABSTRACT
The article reports on the two-tier approach of switching made possible through the collaboration of Blade Network Technologies and Voltaire. The approach, which will use devices that move data in and out in 700 billionths of a second, is expected to speed traffic between servers in data centers used by high frequency traders. The companies will also combine their switch management software to orchestrate the flow of traffic between servers and within the racks.
