ABSTRACT
The article discusses the suggestion by U.S. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd and other Democrats that they would consider eliminating a proposed resolution fund for large banks in order to win Republican votes for the regulatory reform legislation. Republican leaders have used the provision to argue for how the bill would allow more taxpayer-funded bailouts. The provision would charge banks to create a fund to help separate a systemically important institution.
