Despite the high prices of tea, a study by market research firm, Packaged Facts, "Tea and Ready to Drink in the U.S." revealed that sales went up by 2% in 2008 and 2009. Mika Ishida of Chicago, Illinois-based Agro Tea Cafes reported that since opening their first cafe in Chicago in 2003, they have expanded to 16 branches in Chicago and in New York City.
