ABSTRACT
The article discusses the issue on the lack of understanding of infrared (IR) technology as a heating technology. A supplier of IR equipment says that it lead to the misuse of the equipment and much expense in terms of wasted energy, excessive running costs and high capital spending. He notes that it composed of absorption, transmission and reflection. It also has the ability to deliver a spread of wavelengths that match the spectral absorption characteristics of the material being heated.
