ABSTRACT
The article reports that investors continue to use private equity to buy banks, despite the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s restrictions on private equity. Many investors have focused on stakes of less than five percent of a failed bank. Other investor groups have joined to create a pool and others are networking with large investors who have positive relationship with regulators.
