ABSTRACT
The article presents a study that deals with an interactive multimedia software program called "Cal Alive!--Exploring Biodiversity." The paper focuses on the formative assessment of the software's Oak Story subprogram. The success of the subprogram encourages oak enthusiasts around the world to consider developing similar resources that use software technology as a tool for dissemination.
