ABSTRACT
The article focuses on evergreen oaks from northeastern Mexico that are now well-established in the Texas landscape including Quercus (Q.) risophylla, Q. canbyi and Q. polymorpha. It mentions the ability of the oak trees to adapt to adverse growing conditions. The size, color and texture of the leaves of Spinoza are similar to those of Q. risophylla. The Zaragoza oak exhibits an unforgettable display of color when it flushes spring growth.
