ABSTRACT
The article focuses on oak species that can be found at the state of Sonora in Mexico. The oaks in the region are associated primarily with conifers at the highest elevations. The most important of the vegetation types, determined by the presence and numver fo species of Quercus, are deciduous oak woodland and the oak-pine forest. The oak species are principally used for the construction and maintenance of corrals, fences, and dwellings.
