ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the merger and acquisition activity in the financial technology sector. Investment services company MSCI plans to acquire RiskMetrics Group for 1.7 billion U.S. dollars. According to the author, the deal will trigger an intensive deal-making activity for financial technology providers, brokers-dealers, exchange operators, and alternative trading venues. Numerix, Quantifi Solutions, FINCAD and Partners and Sophis are also considering to acquire firms that offer over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives pricing platforms and analytics.
