ABSTRACT
The article discusses the economic performance of the Dominican Republic for 2009 and its prospects for 2010. It cites resilience in light of global economic downturn and growth in real gross domestic product (GDP) of 3.5 percent. Private sector loan growth declined slightly in March 2009 but recovered shortly afterwards. The net export contribution to headline growth is expected to be firmly negative.
