"Memories are made of this" -- a pop song

The author cites his early experiences as fisherman, how he was helped and encouraged by family and friends who were experts in the fishing industry. The support he got from them made him what he is today. The writer believes any comprehensive knowledge comes from "hands on" exposure and association with experts. However, any mistake committed by management is bound to be remembered by the fishing industry. He goes on to say that like fishes which have short memories, species stock assessment is dependent on the capacity to remember and avoid danger.
