ABSTRACT
The article reports on the recognition of aluminum as the best engine for he growth of the automotive market. It notes that the high-strength, lightweight, and corrosion resistant properties of aluminum make it attractive to various automotive applications. It points out that the industry depends more on aluminum for fuel economy improvement without sacrificing the safety and performance. Moreover, automakers find aluminum lightweighting beneficial in their operations.
