ABSTRACT
This article reports that several joint ventures are about redeploying capital enabling an incremental exit that may enhance a set of assets while preparing them for a sale at the same time. In May 2007, Intel Corp. and STMicroelectronics decided to combine certain flash memory assets into a joint venture with support from private equity firm Francisco Partners. Swedish Match exited its European cigar, pipe tobacco and pipe accessories business by forming a joint venture with Scandianvian Tobacco Group.
