ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the native language classes offered at the Yocha Dehe Wintun Academy at the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation in Brooks, California. The language classes are intended to teach students Hill Patwin, a language of the Wintun Indian tribe. It notes that under the helm of school director of education Sarah Martinez, Patwin language and culture have been integrated into all academic subjects and extracurricular activities. It also discusses how the iPod media player is used in the language education of the students.
