ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Advanced Video Codec High Definition (AVCHD) video camera codecs. According to the author, the signature benefit of AVCHD is its compression efficiency as an MPEG-4 based codec which enables it to store more video information at lower bitrates than high-definition video (HDV). The author narrates how his studio used AVCHD cameras in producing a digital video disc (DVD) for singer and actor Rick Springfield.
