The article presents updates on the developments of the defence industry in Latin America. Fabricas y Maestranzas del Ejercito (FAMAE) is assigned to oversee the logistic support and maintenance of PIRANHA combat vehicles in Chile. Meanwhile, it notes the implementation of modernisation and refit programmes for PIJAO-class submarines by Cotecmar in Colombia. A contract signed by Rheinmetall Landsysteme and Ministry of Defence for the development of armour vehicles in Argentina, is also noted.
