ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the treatment of bone loss and osteoporosis in patients with breast or prostate cancer. It says that the loss of estrogen due to premature ovarian failure increases the risk of breast cancer women to bone loss and fractures while the use of hormone-ablation therapy increases the risk of men with prostate cancer to osteoporosis and fractures. Among the therapies to treat osteoporosis and osteopenia in patients with cancer include the use of bisphosphonate clodronate.
