ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regarding the implications of the potential fault to the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant operation in California. NRC ruled that the plant could withstand the effects of the fault, which was reported by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. NRC concluded that the design could resist the largest earthquake and the fault could not alter its tsunami hazard. The skepticisms of activists regarding the plant are also included.
