ABSTRACT

In this article, the author talks about the wheel tests conducted at the Malmbanan iron ore in Sweden. He identifies factors that contribute to the quality of wheel steels including ductility and yield strength. He also explains the importance of the reprofiling process to avoid the formation of cavities and the development of a crack network.
