ABSTRACT
The article presents a study conducted by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) which aims to determine whether better usage of electronic passport security features can improve fraud detection in the U.S. It examines whether computer chips used in electronic passports (e-passports) can be altered or forged to dishonestly enter the country. It explores the risks that malicious code in U.S. e-passport computer chip pose to national security.
