ABSTRACT
The article presents a study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) which looks into the requested budget of the Coast Guard in 2011 and the enhancement of its performance. GAO reveals that the slight reduction of the requested funds for 2010 is attributed to acquisition, construction and improvement. It highlights that the reason for the reduction of funds is to increase its top budget priority funds which is the vessels and aircraft's recapitalization.
