ABSTRACT
The article presents a study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability office (GAO) which looks into the provision of housing assistance to native Americans by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA). GAO discloses that lesser small grantees acquire new housing from the block grant funds. It reveals the need to evaluate the effect of NAHASDA and its infrastructure and investment plans.
