ABSTRACT
The article presents a study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) which looks into the progress in the development and fielding of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). GAO reveals that the transition for MDA by changing its administration in 2009 has led to the strengthening of acquisition approaches. It provides recommendations for MDA, such as increasing transparency and accountability and additional knowledge-based approaches.
