ABSTRACT
The article discusses the automation and computerization of the library system in the Central Library (ZB) of the Research Center in Jülich, Germany, using a software solution called "Symphony." The history of automation and information system projects there beginning in 1970 is recounted. The system requirements and specifications of the new "Symphony" software are summarized, and sample screen shots are provided.
