ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs about Yellowstone National Park. Tom Olliff, chief of the Yellowstone Center for Resource, resigned on November 6, 2009 to become the coordinator of the Greater Yellowstone Inventory and Monitoring Network. On September 21, 2009, grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone area returned to U.S. federal protection. Yellowstone's 2009 summer bison population abundance estimate was 3,300 bison.
