ABSTRACT
Arising emissions of greenhouse gases are result of the combustion of fossil fuels in the anthropogenic activities, deforestation and some natural phenomenon which are responsible for global warming as well as climate change. Global warming and climate change events ere responsible for the uncontrolled floods, heat waves, drought, receding of glaciers, cold waves and icing sea level rise, degradation of agricultural lands, decreasing food production, forest fire etc all these weather related events are creating more critical situations for the human beings. Therefore, worldwide efforts for energy efficiency improvements and production of biofuels from the jatropha, industrial waste, garbage, sewage and municipal solid waste will be helpful for reducing concentration of GHGs and adverse impacts of climate change. In this paper, the author briefly describes about energy efficiency improvements, energy efficient technologies and biofuels which are major sources to slash GHGs emissions, to combat climate change and to secure lives of the living beings.
