ABSTRACT
The article reports on the completion of the first operational deployment of UH-1Y, the multimission utility helicopter of the U.S. Marines Corps. It stresses that the UH-1Y is preparing to enter combat in Afghanistan. According to Major Mark Angersbach, the senior officer of the deploying UH-1Y detachment, the use of UH-1Y met all of his expectations for the actual contingency or operational missions. It states that the UH-1Y is the latest version of the Bell Helicopter Textron Inc.
