The article offers information on the top insurance companies in the U.S., Japan, and Canada. According to the A. M. Best's new ranking of the World's Largest Insurers, Japan Post Insurance Co. Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan, as the world's largest insurer based on its total, non-banking assets at the end of 2008. Followed by Axa SA in Paris, France, with a total non-banking assets of 895,988,404 dollars in 2008 and the American International Group Inc. in New York with 860,418,000 dollars.
