ABSTRACT
This article offers news briefs related to the American Library Association (ALA). The Committee on Accreditation of the ALA has granted accreditation status to masters of library and information studies programs at institutions including McGill University and Wayne State University. A survey has found that half of U.S. states have reduced funding to public libraries in 2010. Several individuals seek election to the ALA Council, including Ismael Abdullahi, Thaddeus P. Bejnar, and Sue Kamm.
