ABSTRACT
The article cites the ruling of the U.S. Department of Justice that Bemis will have to unload certain assets to complete its deal to buy Rio Tinto's Alcan Packaging Food Americas business. The assets to be unloaded specifically include Bemis' flexible packaging operations for natural cheeses and fresh meets. The assets generate about 100 million U.S. dollars in sales and the divestitures represent about 7 % of the target's total sales.
