ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the Triad streamlined site characterization methodology implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the U.S. EPA's Triad is comprised of three components: systematic planning, real-time measurements and dynamic work strategies. According to the author, the Triad approach should consider heterogeneous contaminated sites, the Conceptual Site Model (CSM) and utilization of real-time measurements such as field screening and geophysical techniques.
