ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. Congress is continuing to discuss an international resolution to deal with large bank failures that affect the global economy. The International monetary fund is also exploring the feasibility of levying a tax on internationally active institutions. The article also notes that it has become clear that individual countries could have difficulty in dealing with large bank failures on their own.
