ABSTRACT
The article discusses pessimism on long-term opportunities among workers. Findings from Towers Watson and Co. of 640,000 people working at 54 companies around the world reveal that workers also do not look up to their leaders as much as before. The company's managing principal, Max Caldwell, asserts that employees feel that they have less opportunities to advance. He advises leaders to deploy their talented employees through special assignments which would represent career advancement for them even if it will not result in promotions.
