ABSTRACT
The article reports that the number of global mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in the information technology (IT) industry is rising again. According to ICON Corporate Finance, the number of M&As declined by 23% during 2009 in comparison to 2008. However, the M&As activities gained momentum in the first half of 2009 and it may benefit chief information officers (CIOs) by making funds available to improve an existing technology.
