Spectrum and Russell Hobbs Merge

The article reports on the plan of Atlanta, Georgia-based consumer products company Spectrum Brands Inc. to acquire Miramar, Florida-based kitchen appliances company Russell Hobbs Inc. in an all-stock transaction. Under the deal, Spectrum will acquire Russell Hobbs for about 661 million U.S. dollars net of debt. The deal comprises a 45-day go-shop period and is expected to close in the summer of 2010.
