ABSTRACT
The article discusses several trends affecting the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) and how it reacts to those trends in the U.S. An overview on the trends that affect the NISO community is presented. It states that the organization is reacting to the trends by having a realistic expectation, lighter-weight solutions for the system and extending community engagement. It also mentions that transformations in the organizations should be based on common standards.
