ABSTRACT
Martin Heidegger and Mircea Eliade analyzed the soteriological function of art as a form of poiesis. For them, anamnesis does not stand for a mere memory of the divine, but for an integration of the individual into the destiny of the human being. Artistic poiesis expresses the unity between mythos and logos. It accomplishes the symbolic androgyny that unifies the invisible and the visible, the meeting between transcendence and human immanence.

IN MIRCEA ELIADE'S VISION THERE IS A PERMANENT SOLIDARITY OF HUMAN BEING WITH THE SACREDNESS, A REAL ADDICTION MAINTAINED BY SYMBOLS; THE SIGNS THAT DEFINE THE INDIVIDUAL DESTINY AND THAT MAKE SENSE ONLY FOR THE BEING CONCERNED ABOUT HIS OWN SALVATION. THE SACRED SPACE IS IN MIRCEA ELIADE'S...
