The article focuses on Car Mate, a manufacturing company that produces trailers up to 53 feet long as well as smaller gooseneck and bumper hitch trailers. After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the U.S., emergency response trailers have become a growing part of Car Mate's business and this includes the Super Duty cargo van used as a mobile hospital or as display trailers. The firm has also adapted its Advantage V-nose bumper hitch trailers for medical applications which can be airlifted by a helicopter.
