ABSTRACT
The article discusses milestones in the history of U.S. health care reform. The timeline shows that former U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt began the campaign for social insurance and health insurance since 1912. In 1954, former U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower proposed a federal re-insurance fund to help insurers broaden their coverage. By 1996, the U.S. Congress enacted the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and re-authorized the Children's Health Insurance Program in 2009.
