ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study conducted by P. A. Conrad and colleagues, which examined the relationship between marine and terrestrial environments in toxoplasmosis transmission to California sea otters. It states that the freshwater runoff of Toxoplasma gondii oocysts from cat feces is primarily responsible for the increasing incidents of toxoplasmosis among the otters. Risk factors for toxoplasmosis in humans are also presented.
