ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the emergence of vulture funds which acquired real properties at bargain prices in the U.S. According to Private Equity Intelligence, the amount of money poured into vulture funds increased 56% in 2008 to 36.6 billion U.S. dollars. Robert Young of Pacific Rim Real Estate said his firm has started buying but expects to escalate the pace in the third quarter. It has been argued by vultures that their entry into a neighborhood acts as a brake on falling values.
