Pre-conditioning can make cotton defoliation easier

The article reports on the study regarding convenient cotton defoliation through pre-conditioning in the U.S. as of 2009. According to North Carolina State University graduate student and researcher Seth Holt that pre-conditioning cotton for defoliants allows the grower a bigger window of opportunity to pick the crop, aside from having a lower cost. In relation, defoliating cotton with rank growth and heavy canopy density twice is unusual for growers in any cotton producing areas in the U.S.
