ABSTRACT
A reprint of the article "The Good and the Bad," by John Commins is presented. It states the need for hospitals and healthcare organizations in the U.S. to establish promotion and career development initiatives to explain what are the expectations entailed with their job. David Lawson of Franciscan Health System recommends frank communication with employee who is not on a fast career path. Healthcare organizations are advised to continue examining the efficiency of their career evaluation programs.
