ABSTRACT
A reprint of the article "Navigating the Network," by Janice Simmons is presented. It explains the use of a network navigation in allowing patients with breast cancer to experience smooth transition to hospitals and medical centers in Washington, D.C. Elizabeth Marcus, breast oncology division chairwoman at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois, emphasizes the role of patient navigators in the efforts to eliminate barriers to treatment of cancer.
