ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the use of cardiac biomarkers in detecting chest pain in patients in the U.S. It cites several studies that aim to evaluate which biomarkers work best in the risk assessment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) or myocardial ischemia in patients. It suggests that creatine kinase MB (CK-MB) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) or cardiac troponin T (cTnT) are the most sensitive and specific tools for chest pain detection.
